Govt urged to promote IT in rural areas
NAWABSHAH: Speakers have urged the government to promote information technology in rural areas.
They were speaking at the inauguration ceremony of an information technology centre established in Sakrand by Pai Forest Action Network in collaboration with WWF’s Indus for All Programme.
Programme Coordinator of WWF Nasir Ali Panhwar said the power of information technology should be used for rural development by integrating social and information technology entrepreneurship.
Principal of Sakrand Mono-technical College Mukhtiar Tunio highlighted the role of information technology in the professional development of youths. He said graduates of universities must learn computers because with a simple degree they would fail to attract employers.
Ameen Keerio, chairman of the Network, said the centre offered courses of MS Office and English language.
