Govt receives EOIs for Internet, Media City
KARACHI, July 20 2005: The budget allocation on IT (information technology) related projects in Sindh province has risen to a record amount of Rs735 million, this was stated by the Sindh IT Minister, Mustafa Kamal here at a local hotel on July 19.
Addressing a press conference to introduce the mega IT event – Connect IT being organised by the Pegasus Consultancy at Karachi Expo Centre from December 8-10, 2005, the minister said that the government has received EOI (Expression of Interest) from a number of bidders for setting up of Internet/Media City in Karachi.
He said that Karachi is the centre of IT in Pakistan and has every potential to boost county’s software exports but it only needs aggressive marketing in the world. He added that for this purpose the international events such as Connect IT would prove to be the best marketing tool and also provide a platform to the software and IT professionals to display their products and the talent they posses in this progressive field.
