Government to promulgate RAMBO in October
KARACHI- To safeguard the rights of media people the government is going to promulgate Regulatory Authority on Media and Broadcasting Ordinance (RAMBO) sometime in October.
This was disclosed by the Federal Minister for Information and Adviser to the Chief Executive on National Affairs Javed Jabbar while talking to media women at a meeting on working conditions of women journalists at a local hotel.
Hoping that the new ordinance would help form a new media environment in the country, the minister said that the government would soon privatise the Audit Bureau of Circulation as a move towards autonomy of the press.
