Girls school damaged in blasts

BANNU: A government-run girls’ school was blown up in a series of blasts on the outskirts of Bannu early on Friday morning.

Locals said that militants planted three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Sadat Sorani union council which went off one after another at 1:15am on Friday.

As a result, the school building was partially damaged. Bomb disposal squad officials said that 15kg explosive was used in the bombs.

The police reached the site and registered a case against unknown miscreants. No group has claimed responsibility.
