Freedom of Information Ord draft finalized

LAHORE- The government of Pakistan has given a final shape to the draft of Freedom of Information Ordinance and it will be submitted in the next federal cabinet meeting for approval.

This was stated by Federal Law Minister Dr. Khalid Ranjhawhile talking to the newsmen after addressing an educational seminar held under the auspices of Pakistan Private Schools Owners Association and National Educational Alliance.

Earlier, speaking at the disbursement ceremony of educational books to the deserving students” held under the auspices of Pakistan Private Schools Association, the minister said that sound democracy was linked to the enhancement of literacy rate in the country.

He stressed upon the teachers to infuse sense of research and curiosity in their students along with imparting the syllabus education so that Pakistan could introduce itself as literate country in the educational horizon of the world.

Ranjha expressing concern over the trend of commercializing education urged the owners of private educational institutions to map out such mechanism, which could help deserving students to get high level education from good institutions.

Former caretaker Prime Minister Malik Miraj Khalid, former Punjab Governor Shahid Hamid and Pakistan Private Schools Owners Association president Mirza Kashif Ali also addressed at the occasion.
