Foreign film unit shoots in Mirpurkhas

MIRPURKHAS: A 30-member film unit comprising Indian, American and Pakistani actors arrived here for shooting a documentary amid tight security.

The unit has Indian actors Nandita Das, Saif Rahman and American actors Jaesse James, Michael Schefit, Sufian and Nina Khan, besides Pakistani stars Nouman Aijaz and Zalay Sarhadi.

It spent a busy day while shooting in a remote village in Taluka Kot Ghulam Muhammad on Friday. The location of the shooting was strictly kept secret apparently for security concerns. Lodging arrangements were made at private rest houses in Mirpurkhas and Tando Allahyar.

The unit will stay here for one week to complete their shooting in remote rural areas of Mirpurkhas district.

The movements of the film unit were restricted only to rest houses and shooting locations, which were kept confidential.

When contacted by The News, coordinators Marium and Shakeel Rana refused to give details, saying they have been strictly forbidden not to share even a single word with the media or pass any information related to the film unit or the subject of the documentary.
