First FM radio planned for AJK

MIRPUR – Azad Kashmir shall have its first FM Radio in Mirpur which could go on air shortly with programmes, flavoured with the taste and interest of listeners of all ages, official sources said.

‘To be located in the premises of Azad Kashmir Radio Mirpur station, this project may take a couple of months to set off its ‘transmission’, sources tcld March 9, adding transmitter of the proposed FM radio is awaited for installation to bring on air the attractive programs of entertainment.

Requisite studios for the FM Radio are being set up at the Broadcasting House, now beaming signal of magnificent taste to a vast terrain in and around the fast developing city of Mirpur.

FM Radio equipment has already reached its’ site, the sources said.

Brisk preparations are afoot for the completion of the FM Radio project within the stipulated timeframe, first of its kind in the public or private sector in Azad Jammu Kashmir. The 192 feet high FM Radio tower has simultaneously been installed as a preamble to this project. The programs’ cue-sheet shall be indexed with a variety of entertainment as well as info programs.

Azad Kashmir radio Mirpur now on air beams its uninterrupted and regular transmissions with its’ 100 KV strength with a coverage of a vast area of the country besides the occupied Jammu Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Station Director Azad Kashmir Radio Mirpur Shahid Akhter Chak told that Mirpur Radio station has launched various special attractive programs of current affairs of the interest of its’ listeners including a program of youth entitled “Shaheen” in addition to a program, based on Radio Press conference depicting the problems of the masses and their instant solutions, poetry, as well as an exclusive program for children entitled ‘Honahaar’ on every Sunday, “Fouji Bhaiyoon Ka Program”, Mehfil-e-Milaad, “Maza­karat”, In-views, program for women folk entitled “Ghar Aanghen,” programme highlighting problems of the overseas Pakistanis and their dependents in the country.

Since its inception on September 30 last year, the AJK Radio Mirpur is bringing its daily, formal transmission on air comprising fabulous entertainment gala in Gojri, Pahari, Kashmiri and Urdu languages plus the news and current affairs programs.
