English language classes for journalists start at KPC

KARACHI (APP), June 18 2006: The English language classes for journalists began at the Karachi Press Club on June 17. The two-month course is being organised by the KPC in collaboration with the Anglophile English learning Centre. The president of KPC, Ghazi Salahuddin, and the Director of the Centre, Nadeem Murtaza, jointly performed the inauguration.

Speaking on the occasion, Ghazi Salahuddin said that the KPC from time to time takes steps for the professional training as well as enhancement of knowledge of its members. He said that the holding of this course is also part of such endeavours. He thanked the management of the Anglophile English Learning Centre for its collaboration in this respect. The Director of the Centre, Nadeem Murtaza, said that during the course latest techniques would be used for the teaching of the English Language.

The Secretary of the KPC, Najeeb Ahmed, presented the vote of thanks. According to Raza Haider, the Secretary of KPC’s Special Events Committee, which is supervising the course, the classes will be held twice in a week, on June 17s and June 18s from 12 noon to two p.m. He said that as many as 70 members of the KPC have got themselves registered for the course.
