Eight-year-old schoolgirl gang-raped

KARACHI, Sept 16: Police have found no clue to the three young men who allegedly abducted and gang-raped an eight-year-old girl on Tuesday.

The Sharifabad police registered a case (FIR 155/2009) against the unidentified rapists under Sections 366-A (procuration of minor girl), 376 (punishment for rape) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the victim’s father, a resident of Musa Colony and hairdresser by profession.

The complainant reported to the police that his two daughters, aged eight and six years, went to their school in C-Area and the elder daughter was abducted by an unidentified young motorcyclist near the school gate at around 9am on Tuesday.

He said that later his daughter was abandoned by the culprits near his house at around 11.30pm.

The victim’s father quoted his daughter as saying that she was kidnapped by an unidentified motorcyclist who later, along with his two accomplices, raped her.

The victim girl was sent to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where a woman medico-legal officer examined her. Hospital sources said that an initial examination of the victim established that she was sexually assaulted and tortured.
