Eight more fall prey to separate acts of violence

KARACHI: Eight people, including an activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), were killed in separate acts of violence here on Friday.

An activist of MQM was gunned down in Jafar Tayyar Society, Malir within the precincts of Malir City police station. An official said that two armed pillion riders shot dead Saeed, 50, alias Mada, son of Abdul Wahid, when he was going somewhere on his motorcycle along with his son. His body was brought to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for an autopsy. He said that the deceased lately joined MQM along with Amir Khan. Deceased were the resident of Malir area and father of three children

After the incident, panic and fear spread in the vicinity after which commercial and non-commercial activities were suspended.

Separately, a man was killed at Sector 5-A, North Karachi within the vicinity of Khwaja Ajmair Nagri police station. According to police, two unidentified armed pillion riders opened fire on 35-year-old Jameel, son of Din Muhammad; resultantly he received multiple bullet wounds and died instantly. His body was brought to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy. The deceased was the father of two children and used to work as the watchman in the same area. Further investigation was underway.
Similarly, an activist of People’s Aman Committee (PAC) was killed at Patal Para within the limits f Jamshed Quarter police station. Police said that Faisal alias Langra, a notorious gangster of Magsi group, was sitting at Flimistan Cinema at Patel Para along with some companions, where his own companions shot him over some personal dispute and managed to flee. Police said that the deceased was involved in 16 cases of murders. His body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.
A man was shot dead at Golimar Chowrangi within the precincts of Gulbahar police station.

According to police, unidentified culprits in a car reached Golimar Chowrangi with an abducted man, they brought him outside the car and penetrated multiple bullet in his body, killing him on the spot.

The body was brought to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy, where the deceased was identified as Shahid, 28, son of Hanif. The deceased was the resident of C-1 area, Liaquatabad. The deceased was unmarried and used to work as electrician couple of months ago.

A man, Aslam, son of Aziz, was shot dead in Baldia Town within the jurisdiction of Saeedabad police station. An official said that armed riders shot him multiple times and escaped. The deceased lived in Model Colony. His body was shifted to CHK for an autopsy.

A teenage girl was killed in Lyari’s Agra Taj Colony within the limits of Kalri police station.

Police officials said that Rija, 17, daughter of Younus, was standing at a balcony of her house when participants of the wedding ceremony of her neighbouring person, namely Rashid, opened indiscriminate firing into the air for celebration, resultantly, the bullet hit and killed her.

The bullet riddled body of a man was found from Dhobi Gath within the vicinity of Kalakot police station.

According to police official, 28-year-old Shahid, son of Sultan, was kidnapped by unidentified culprits on 28th October when he left his house to meet his in-laws in Korangi area. His family had also registered his missing report in Garden police station. He said that in last Ramzan, his elder brother, Sohail, was also killed in the same manner and his body was also found in a gunny bag. He said that initial investigation revealed that the associates of Lyari warfare were behind the murder.

The body of a man packed in a gunny bag was recovered from Lyari Naddi within the limits of Pak Colony police station.

An official said that after getting information about the body, police rushed to the scene and took it to ASH for medico-legal formalities. He said that unidentified culprits first kidnapped him and after killing him, threw his body in Lyari Naddi. The identity of the victim was yet to be ascertained, while the victim appeared to be 24-year-old. The body was later moved to the mortuary for identification.
