Editors in courts not a good idea?

THIS refers to the letter ‘Court judgments: media coverage’ (Nov 3) by Muhammad Abd Al-Hameed.

The appointment of editors would only make a mess of the judgment legalese, creating more trouble for the judges.

The stenographers in courtrooms are quite adept at transliterating or copying judgments without legalese error.

Even if one looks at Justice Crook’s judgment on spot-fixing, one will notice it came down on the media one by one, greater details following later on.

The need of time and transparency is that all proceedings and judgments at all levels of judicial rooms be fully recorded and saved on the computer. Only this way we can proceed towards a transparent and effective judiciary and judicial action.
