Doctor’s negligence claims patient’s life

PESHAWAR, August 20 2005: Negligence and carelessness of a doctor claimed the life of a patient here the otherday.

According to details one Amir Khan informed that one of his aunt who was suffering from an illness was practically killed by a doctor who was using the name and clinic of another famous doctor who was actually out of country.

He said that his freind Jamil gave him the address of the clinic of Dr. Farsheed Sartaj. “As the doctors examined my aunt he advised some tests and after it proposed that the patient must be immediately admitted into my private hospital for a major operation”, he disclosed.

Amir Khan said that with a cost of Rs:18000 the doctor operated the patient on the same day in his private hospital.

However after operation the condition of my patient further deteriorated.

He said that on the second day of the operation about 2p.m doctor told him that now the patient was completely recovered and he was going to discharge the patient.

Amir Khan said that he insisted to the doctor that he had deposited the full fee for the hospitalization of his patient and furthermore the condition of the patient was not out of danger therefore the patient should not be discharged.

He said that the doctors then wrote a prescription for some medicine and when I went for bringing the medicine he discharged my patient from the hospital.
