Demo against ban on TV channel
MlRPURKHAS – Scores of citizens have taken out protest rally here on Saturday from Railway Station Chock to protest against the ban imposed on Islamic TV channel (Peace) by PEMRA.
Protesters led by Moulvi Hafeezur Rehman, Riaz J albani, Abdul Hameed, Rehman Arisar and others carried banners and placards marched through main roads while raised also slogans against the PEMRA.
They reached local press club where speaking at the protesters, Moulvi Hafeezur Rehman and Riaz J albani expressed their concern on the imposition of ban on Islamic TV channel in Muslim country. They said that Muslims have got more than benefit of Peace TV channel. They said that the ban imposed on Islamic TV channel (peace) is the insult of all Muslims of the country.
They strongly condemned the act of PEMRA to impose ban.
They warned the chairman PEMRA and government that if the transmission of Peace TV channel was not air within a week then strike call would be given in protest at Mirpurkhas.
