Daily Ausaf’s phones closed

KARACHI: Routine work at the bureau office of daily Ausaf Islamabad was affected on Friday as two digital phones of the office were closed.

The Islamabad daily has been supporting the Jang group in its struggle for freedom of press. Earlier, editor of the newspaper were threatened and hurdles were created in the distribution of the newspaper in question.

Due to closer of two telephones the bureau office could not send its news stories to Islamabad office. Bureau chief lqbal Qasim tried to contact the officials and other responsible concerned, but to no avail.

According to Qasim, the sources at the telephone exchange concerned have informed that the communication system of the bureau office was jammed under the directives of some unknown persons and any immediate help from exchange was not possible.
