CPNE standing committee meeting on March 20
KARACHI- The Standing Committee of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors will meet at the Avari Towers, Karachi on March 20, 2003 at 11 am under the Chairmanship of CPNE President Mujib-ur-Rehman Shami.
The agenda for the CPNE Standing Committee includes government-press relations review, consideration of communication received from Federal Information Ministry regarding legal notice received by the Ministry calling upon it to restrain newspapers and periodicals from publishing verses from the Holy Quran in order to preserve the sanctity of these verses, arrangements for the annual function of the CPNE at which Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali will be the chief guest, any other matter with the permission of the Chair.
Announcing the holding of the CPNE Standing Committee meeting the General Secretary Mahmudul Aziz requested member editors to attend the meeting.
