Columnist Nazir Naji Passes Away
Renowned columnist Nazir Naji, has passed away at the age of 86.
According to Dawn, Naji breathed his last on February 21. Naji served at daily Jang as a senior columnist for 27 years. He also served the Pakistan Academy of Letters as its chairman. In 2012, he joined Dunya as its group editor. The veteran journalist was awarded Hilal-i-Imtiaz. Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has expressed grief over his demise.
The Nation reported that Murtaza Solangi, the Caretaker Minister for Information, Broadcasting, and Parliamentary Affairs, expressed profound grief and sorrow at the passing of Naji. In a condolence message, the minister conveyed his heartfelt prayers for the departed soul to find eternal peace and for the bereaved family to find strength in this difficult time. Reflecting on Naji’s lifelong dedication to journalism and service to the nation, Solangi paid tribute to his remarkable contributions.

He emphasized the invaluable nature of Naji’s analyses and columns, acknowledging the significant void left in journalism by his passing.
