Caretaker Minister Vows Action Against Forced Dismissal of Journalists
ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, has asserted that the government is committed to taking decisive action within the legal framework against the forced dismissal of journalists and media workers.
Speaking outside the Parliament House in Islamabad, the Minister expressed strong disapproval of the practice of coercive termination of media professionals.
Solangi conveyed that the issue of journalists facing forced dismissals has been brought to the attention of Chairman PEMRA, and further discussions on the matter are scheduled during the meeting of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting on Friday.
Highlighting the government’s responsibility to uphold constitutionally granted legal protections for media workers, the Minister emphasized the unacceptability of any actions that undermine the rights and job security of journalists.
As the caretaker administration takes a stand against forced dismissals, it reflects a commitment to safeguarding the rights and professional integrity of media personnel.
