Cable operators resume transmission
QUETTA- All Balochistan Cable TV Operators Association has announced to resume their transmission from Thursday after successful negotiations with Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) authorities and Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Quetta.
The announcement was made by President of the Association Sohail Aziz and Regional Manager PEMRA Zahid Hussain during a joint press conference here on April 24, 2003.
Cable Operators had suspended their transmission on April 22, 2003 evening following the incident in Nawan Killi, an outskirt of the City, in which one of their offices and a watchman looking after the office were burned by some unknown people.
Sohail Aziz informed the newsmen that the decision to resume their transmission was taken after the assurance given by PEMRA authorities and SSP Quetta for taking strict action against the culprits involved in the incident and making special recommendations for payment of compensation to the affected cable TV operators and the injured watchman.
