Bomb destroys two CD shops in Orakzai

Two shops selling music CDs in were destroyed in a bomb blast in Orakzai agency of Pakistan’s Federally Administrated Tribal Area (FATA). The bomb blast targeting the music shops also destroyed four other shops took place on November 22, 2011.

Unknown militants planted explosive devices in the main market of Jalka Mela which houses two music CD shops. The explosion occurred at around 1:00 a.m. No casualties were reported in the blast as no one was present in the market at night.

The political administration arrested 21 people belonging to the Bezotkhel tribe under the collective responsibility section of the Frontier Crimes Regulation law.

Safdar Hayat Dawar, president of the Tribal Union of Journalists (TUJ), told PPF that the owners of the CD shops had received a letter next morning from Taliban militants that the other traders of music CDs would meet the same fate.
