Ban on Da Vinci Code in Pakistan

June 04 2006: Federal Government has banned a HollywoodÂ’s film in Pakistan on Saturday, June 3, 2006. According to media reports Federal Government has banned the exhibition of a controversial movie Da Vinci Code after the countrywide protest from the Christian Community in Pakistan.

Federal Cultural Minister Ghulam Jamal termed the film as blasphemous. Te Spokesman of Pakistan Film Censor Board said that the ban has been imposed on Da Vinci Code because this movie outraged the Christian community. It is a Ron Howard’s movie, which is a screen adaptation from the Dan Brown’s novel in which he expressed the theory that Jesus married Mary Magdalene and according to him their descendants are surviving till yet.
