Attack on KPC condemned
Karachi: President Karachi Press Club (KPC) Tahir Hasan Khan and Secretary Moosa Kaleem have condemned in the most unambiguous of terms the armed attack on the staff and members of the Karachi Press Club on Tuesday evening and have asked the government of Sindh to take immediate action against the perpetrators.
They said that it was sad irony that such a blatant and vicious attack on journalists should be taking place on the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day. They regretted that the civic administration and the police neither were ready to provide protection to the staff of the club nor had it bothered to cooperate with the club management in this regard.
The governing body of the Karachi Press Club has asked the administration to live up to its responsibility and protect the club and its members from the armed goons or else journalists would be left with no option but to lodge a strong protest against the apathy of the government.
