Attack on a local journalist in Karachi: Sindh
The local police in Karachi assaulted a local journalist on March 10, 2004.
Journalist Zulfiqar Ali, of South Asian News Agency (SANA) was attacked by station house officer (SHO) Khalid around 12:30 pm near Sindh Assembly where protest arranged by People’s Party condemning the killing of MPA Abdullah Murad was being held.
When the SHO approached him, Zulfiqar Ali was passing by the site which was blocked and without giving any explanation started to verbally abuse him and threatened him of sever consequences. SHO also physically assaulted him. He has been slightly injured.
Zulfiqar has been associated with the profession of journalism for the last 4 years and has worked with various newspapers.
