Asma concerned at human rights violations
LAHORE: Human rights activist Asma Jahangir has expressed serious concern over rampant violation of human rights in Pakistan.
In a statement on Monday, Asma said the recovery of a missing person Abdul Saboor’s body from Peshawar was a very alarming indication. She urged the Supreme Court to order production of all the missing persons before one more body was found from any other city. She also asked the government to take the matter seriously.
Asma condemned the torture on a couple who had contracted love marriage on the orders of a local panchayat in Dera Ismail Khan and demanded strict legal action against the perpetrators.
