ASH doctor among 5 succumb to karachi violence

KARACHI: At least five people including a doctor of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital were gunned down in different areas of the city on Sunday.

According to police, two brothers were shot dead by unidentified gunmen near a sweets shop in Khokhrapar area of Malir. Two others were also injured in the incident.

The brothers were identified as Tanvir and Tauseef. Tension prevailed in the area after their killing.
Meanwhile, two tortured dead bodies were recovered from Baldia Town of the city.

Meanwhile, the terror of target killing could not stop in Karachi as Dr. Arif Mustafa of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital died by the firing of unknown armed persons in Buffer Zone.

According to details, Dr. Arif Mustafa was enroute to the hospital when the target killers opened fire and killed him whereas Rabitta Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement has condemned the brutal murder of Dr. Arif and has also demanded the detention of culprits.
57 shopkeepers fined
for profiteering

The Karachi Divisional and District Administration has challaned 57 shopkeepers and fined Rs82,500 for profiteering and adulteration, said Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui here on Sunday.

In a statement, he further said these shopkeepers included milk-sellers, grocers and meat sellers. They were challaned in Liaquatabad, Gulberg, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, New Karachi, Saddar, SITE, Orangi Town, Baldia, Manghopir, Civil Lines and a number of other areas.
