Following is the text of the press release issued by ARY Digital Network Management
ARY gets the worst of Communication Black Out in Pakistan with its International Broadcast closed from its uplink center outside Pakistan. ARY Network has always propounded the cause of Pakistan and has nurtured the best practices of reporting that culminated into chiseling public awareness. National unity and interests have remained not only the sub-textual policy of ARY Network, but also the entire spectrum of programming on the network has always vouched for the Sub Sey Pehlay Pakistan (Pakistan First) fact. In the absence of any substantial reason, this recent off-airing of ARY Network seems to be the brunt that is being borne for someone else. ARY network has never been part of the strategy of other channels that can have some other ulterior motives of gaining short term gains of popularity. ARY has a distinct policy in this regard that is rendered around Pakistan only.
The ARY Network, has registered strong protest with an obvious surprise that ARY has never hesitated to support democratic norms in the country and has always been the prime support of every government initiative in the past. We have given Pakistan its cultural identity by making Pakistan as the only reason of existence. In the face of all that, this recent closure of international broadcast is unfounded. There are more than 1500 families attached to ARY Network in Pakistan directly. And the indirect calculation goes even further. There is a paniced unrest because of the looming uncertainty that this situation has created. However we are not going to leave our people marooned in any situation.
ARY still believes that this stalemate can very easily be resolved through dialogue and display of good democratic principles, which is the present principal stand of Governement also.
This closure has dented very obviously the moderate image of Pakistan all across the world that the country earned so insidiously over the years. ARY network still sees the silver lining rimming this cloud if the die-hard stance of Government is softened and room of dialogue is created in this so thickly packed situation. Let the maxim win that says there is always room for improvement which is the biggest room in any house.
