APNS calls emergency meeting today
KARACHI (March 17 2007): Secretary General of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society Kazi Asad Abid, has strongly condemned the attack on the premises of Jang, The News and Geo at Islamabad. He also flayed the restrictions being imposed on the press.
“The APNS considers such actions as strangulating the free press, reiterates its commitment to brave the situation with stronger resolve to protect the freedom of press,” he added.
The secretary general also announced that an emergency meeting of the Sindh based member publications of the APNS would be held on Saturday (today) at 3.00 pm at APNS office, Karachi to discuss the prevailing situation. He has requested all Sindh based publications to positively attend the meeting.
