Al Jazeera to air documentary on missing Pakistanis
ISLAMABAD, June 07 2006: Al-Jazeera television will air a documentary this week that looks at the fate of Pakistanis who went missing after going to Afghanistan to fight US forces following September 11.
The 40-minute documentary, Conspiracy of Silence is to air at 2:10am on Friday and will be shown again at 3:00pm no Saturday and 10:00pm on Sunday. With Afghan authorities and US forces in Guantanamo Bay refusing to comment on their whereabouts, the documentary investigates the status of the thousands of Pakistanis who remain missing after answering the call to “jihad” in Afghanistan. The documentary investigates whether the Pakistanis are in secret jails of warlords in Afghanistan, are being detained in Guantanamo Bay, or are in jails in Pakistan. NNI
