140 PTV employees in surplus pool

PESHAWAR, June 24 2006: Central Employees Union of Pakistan Television has appealed to President Pervez Musharraf to intervene to solve problems of PTV employees. Speaking at a function held to give TV sets to the retired employees of the corporation, Mohammad Saleem Khan, president of the PTV Central Employees Union, said that the corporation had placed 140 employees in the surplus pool, while some influential people had been employed on high salaries.

“We have to apprise the president of the problems faced by the PTV and its employees. Bad days are ahead for the corporation and there is an urgent need for the president to intervene to set things right,” he said. He said that the sons of the corporation’s employees be given jobs in the PTV or other sectors so that they could live with dignity and respect.
