The Panel wins KUJ election
KARACHI: The Panel defeated the Progressive Panel by clinching all posts of office-bearers and members of executive council in elections for the Karachi Union of Journalists on Saturday.
Khurshid Abbasi, who bagged 433 votes, was elected president while Saeed Jan Baloch (462) and Zaheer Ahmed (306) were elected vice-presidents. Other office-bearers elected were: Syed Hassan Abbas (general secretary, 399 votes), Mushtaq Sarki and Wajid Raza Ispahani (joint secretaries) and Shahid Ghazali (treasurer).
Bilquees Jehan, Mohammed Ali Hafeez, Rafiq Baloch, Salahuddin Sallu, Syed Shariful Hassan, Ulfat Hussain Mughal and Zulfiqar Rajpar will be members of the new executive council.
