Social media for democracy
Social media or the internet is growing in its use with every passing day. Even the most underdeveloped countries have internet access.
Apart from all other media sources, which require some degree of specialisation, the internet requires no expertise or thorough knowledge of anything.
We see the internet becoming a primary source of news and views on various subjects. Even the traditional media sources are using it as a new platform to reach to the people.
With the advancement in technology, new concepts and ideas are making their way into social spheres, such as social media websites and a number of blogs that allow people to interact and form global communities.
All these advancements have powered people to transmit their message to the authorities and their elected governments, which further strengthens the spirit of democracy.
