Sharmila to launch HR campaign through radio
Karachi: For the development of the society, an environment is required where women can explore their opportunities and integrate their knowledge and skills in nation building, economic development and education.
This was stated by the Advisor to the Sindh Chief Minister, Sharmila Farooqui, while addressing a 3-day training programme of the Pakistan Press foundation on Radio Journalism at a local hotel held in connection with International Women’s Day.
She said women form around half of Pakistan’s population and therefore, being a major segment of the society their role in the country’s development cannot be ignored.
“The provision of more education opportunities, gender indiscrimination and harassment-free environment are of vital significance in evaluating the contribution of women in the country’s development.” she said.
She was of the view that the recognition and respect of women’s rights should start from home.
