Shahbaz greets media, MPAs over pro-media resolution
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif congratulated provincial assembly members and the media for the passage of the pro-media resolution by the Punjab Assembly.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the chief minister said the resolution adopted by the Punjab Assembly reflected the true sentiments of the leadership and workers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz towards the media.
He said there was a need to promote the culture of tolerance for the protection of the democratic system in the country.
Shahbaz said the PML-N fully realised that it was not possible to free the country of a dictator and his cronies without an independent media.
