Residents foil sexual assualt bid
NOWSHERA, November 10 2005: The local residents and district government representatives foiled a bid to sexually abuse a minor boy by one Iftikhar, police head constable of Aman Kot police post.
The boy, Sajjad Khan, son of Wazir Khan, created hue and cry when assaulted by the constable on whom hundreds of people busy in a burial rituals near the post turned up and saved the boy. The irritated people brutalized the constable, however, the Tehsil Nazim, Dr Imran Khattak and union nazims Zulfiqar Aziz and Zulfiqar Bhutto, who were also present on the occasion locked him up in a room.
The people staged a protest demonstration, which continued for about two hours. The district police officer, Akhtar Hayat Gandapur, suspended the services of said head constable after arresting him following which the demonstrators dispersed peacefully.
