Repeal of Hudood Ordinance: Majida
ISLAMABAD – Condemning the Hudood Ordinance of 1979, Chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of Women, Justice (retd) Majida Rizvi has demanded immediate repeal of the Hudood Ordinance, and Qisas and Diyat Act.
Giving a presentation on “Discriminatory laws against women”, organized by the Centre of Democratic Development on June 16, She said these laws are discriminatory and erode the rights of women and minorities and deny equal protection to them.
She also condemned honour killings and said that it was ironic to note that no FIR could be lodged against the culprits, who killed women in the name of honour.
