Rains play havoc in Dera Ismail Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Persistent rains are playing havoc with the lives of people in Dera Ismail Khan, Mandi Bahuddin and other areas, as water enters their houses, causing massive damage to properties. Flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains have killed least many people and destroyed hundreds of houses in different parts of the country with Met office forecasting Jhelum and Chenab to attain low flood level and heavy rains to continue in next 24 hours. Heavy rain in different cities of upper Punjab has also been predicted.

Meanwhile, there are reports that several villages had been inundated by floodwater in Punjab. Hundreds of poor people were forced to spend days in open as their homes were destroyed by floods.
People living in Dera Ismail Khan, Nowshera and other adjoining areas are facing enormous difficulties as after rains, all the Nullah are overflowing hence water entering their houses and causing damage.
