Pushto channel to air programmes from March 23
PESHAWAR: Renowned TV artist and director of Khyber TV Channel Firdaus Jamal said that new private Pushto channel would highlight Pashtuns’ history, culture and literature throughout the world, which is expected to be commenced from March 23, 2004 .
Talking to The Nation he said that a modern studio and the offices of Khyber TV channel would be set up in Peshawar, saying that need of private Pushto channel was felt since long as Pukhtuns were living in each and every corner of the world. He said that talented people from peshawar and Quetta would be inducted in the new channel while different kinds of programmes including drama, music, stage shows, talk shows, news and current affairs programmes would be telecast through this channel.
It is to be mentioned here that this was one of the lond-standing demands of the people, especialy the pushto poets, writers, actress and intellectuals.
