Protests in Hyderabad, Thatta
HYDERABAD: A demonstration was staged here on Friday against the republication of blasphemous sketches. Jamiat Ulema Pakistan senior vice president Sahibzada Abulkhair Mohammed Zubair led the demonstration, which was participated by a large number of JUP workers and local residents, who were chanting slogans against the Danish newspapers. They also condemned the Denmark government for paying no heed to the protests being held across the world against blasphemous caricatures. They announced to continue the protest and criticised Holland over release of a movie against the Holy Quran.
They said these steps are a conspiracy against Muslims of the world and made it clear that such blasphemous attitude
would not be tolerated. Meanwhile, activists of the Pasban also staged a demonstration against the blasphemous caricatures besides Khateebs in various mosques during their Friday sermons condemned the Danish newspapers for republishing the blasphemous sketches.
Our Thatta correspondent adds: large number of local leaders, workers and supporters of various religious parties took out a rally here on Friday to protest against the blasphemous sketches reprinted in Denmark.
The participants, led by Maulana Ahmed Soomro, marched on the national highway and gathered in front of the press club, Thatta. They raised slogans against the Danish government for reprinting blasphemous sketches.
They demanded of the government to end diplomatic relations with Denmark besides boycotting its products.
