PPP candidate moves SHC for re-election

Syed Faisal Raza Abdi of the Pakistan Peoples Party has challenged the results of the constituency NA-253 Karachi through a petition he filed in the Sindh High Court (SHC).

Abdi, making respondents election commission, returning officer, winning candidate of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Haider Abbas Rizvi, and others, has alleged his rivals for rigging in different polling stations of the constituency.

He has claimed that some 10, 000 votes of the petitioner were found from outside the polling stations and further that the petitioner has the documentary proofs of rigging. He prayed the court to get the cast votes examined by NADRA, claiming that the same thumbprints would be detected on several ballot papers.

He further has prayed the court to withhold the results of the said constituency and to direct the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for re-election in the constituency.
