PM for maximum consensus on Women Bill

ISLAMABAD, September12 2006: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that consideration of the Women’s Protection Bill will start in the National Assembly tomorrow (Wednesday). The prime minister was talking to a large delegation comprising ministers and MNAs who called on him at his chamber in the Parliament on Monday evening. PML President Ch. Shujaat Hussain also attended the meeting. He said that government would not allow passage of any bill in the Parliament, which is not in complete conformity with the Quran and the Sunnah. The prime minister said that the Protection of Women’s Rights Bill is an issue of paramount importance and the government is keen to achieve consensus on it by enlisting the support and cooperation of all stakeholder.
