National media digitalisation policy next month: Firdous
ISLAMABAD: Federal government will announce National Media Digitalization Policy early next month, Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan said.
Talking to newsmen Thursday after inaugurating Electronic Media Complaint Cell EMCC at Pemra Headquarters, she said EMCC would register complaints of private electronic media and evaluate their performance in collaboration with Pakistan Broadcasters Association. She said state broadcasters and private media would be on board under Digitalization Policy aimed at empowering media, making it more string and vibrant.
Minister said media has to play vital role in promoting, strengthening democracy and parliament. “Each state institution should work in constitutional ambit. The government by remaining in constitutional limits will ensure implementing all decisions of the judiciary,” she added.
