Murdered girl buried without rites
MIRPURKHAS, May 30: A young girl has been strangulated on pretext of honour killing and buried by her elder brother and uncle without proper funeral at Mureed Lodho village in the jurisdiction of Old Mirpur police station. A murder case was lodged on Wednesday.
Report said that Mohammad Shafi Lodho and his uncle Mukhtiar Lodho strangulated Ms Arzana, 20, on May 25 when her father Khuda Bux alias Nano Lodho had gone to Karachi to meet his relatives. The accused buried her body secretly without performing last funeral.
The accused suspected the deceased of having illicit relations with a man. The deceased’s father on return came to know about the tragic incident and informed police.
The Old Mirpur police conducted inquiry and searched different graveyard to ascertain the grave of the deceased.
The police, on the complaint of Khuda Bux registered a murder case against Shafi Mohammad Lodho and Mukhtiar Lodho, son and younger brother of the complainant, respectively.
Police had as yet, not arrested nominated accused. The DPO Mirpurkhas Abdullah Shaikh, when contacted said that police would file an application in the court to exhume body for post-mortem.
