Moral policing

Sir: I was shocked to read about the incident at Nairang Art Gallery, Lahore. Apparently, an SHO from the Shadman Police Station visited the art gallery with his team and beat up a female curator because she was wearing sleeveless shirt.

Since when have our policemen taken up the role of moral policing? They are not good at investigating crimes or finding murderers, robbers, criminals. All they end up doing is harassing innocent people for no good reason.

The said SHO should be put behind bars for assaulting a woman. It disgusts me to think that these people are out there to ‘protect’ us. What kind of protection are they providing when they beat up women? This SHO should be made an example of so that nobody commits such heinous acts ever again. Nobody should be above the law.
