Media creating awareness about Hepatitis
HYDERABAD: The media is playing pivotal role in creating awareness among the masses about the affects of Hepatitis diseases and by waging war against Hepatitis, the present government is accomplishing the dreams of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
The Programme Manager Special initiatives against Hepatitis under Chief Minister’s Programme Dr. Abdul Majeed Chutto said this while talking to delegations of different segments of life here at his office on Monday. He said that Sindh province has take the edge by initiating a massive programme against Hepatitis which included the treatment of Hepatitis-B and Hepatitis-C while the treatment of Hepatitis-D (Delta Virus) has also been included in this programme. He informed that over 0.6 million school going children have been vaccinated under this programme while vaccination of newly born babies is also being carried out in successful manner aimed to root out the disease from the province.
He said that print and electronic media is playing vital role in creating awareness among the masses for carrying out preventive measures as he said that preventive measures can stop the disease in prevailing among the people. He said that under the programme, facilities are being provided to the people right from Karachi to Kashmore and the staff concerned is discharging responsibilities realizing it a national duty to save the future of the people.
