Man killed by ‘newly wed wife’s lover’
LAHORE: A 40-year-old man, father of six, was allegedly stabbed to death by his newly wed wife’s paramour in Raiwind police precincts on Tuesday. Raiwind Police Station SHO Chaudhary Muhammad Anwar said Shaukat had married Salma, 20, a month ago.
He said Salma’s parents had given her in marriage against her will. He said Salma had an affair with a boy, Tauqeer, who had tried to stop the deceased from marrying Salma. Anwar said on Tuesday Salma told Tauqeer that Shaukat was working in the fields, Shaukat reached there and asked him to divorce Salma.
He said they had a clash on which Tauqeer picked up a scythe from the fields and repeatedly stabled Shaukat. The SHO said the accused fled after killing Shaukat.
