Journalists to get soft loans: Punjab chief Minister
LAHORE ,February 11 2005: Punjab Chief Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, chairing a high level meeting here on Thursday, said that besides loans for plots, soft loans would also be extended to Journalists for construction of houses in Journalist Colony Lahore. The Chief Minister averred that Bank of Punjab (BoP) would make necessary arrangements in this regard.
He said that setting up of Journalists’ colony is significant step with regard to provision of residential facilities to the Journalists in provincial capital.
He said all those facilities would be made available in the Journalists colony, which are essential for any modern residential area. He directed the authorities to ensure excellent system of water, Sui gas, electricity and sanitation in the proposed colony, along with better road network, link roads and park.
Appreciating services of Journalists he said that with provision of residential facilities, the Journalists would be able to perform their professional duties in an effective manner.
