Journalists’ problems to be resolved on priority: advisor

KARACHI, May 21 2006: The Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh for Information and Archives, Salahuddin Haider has said that the newsmen are playing a vital role for the projection of government activities and highlighting the problems and grievances faced by the masses. He said this while handing over cheques of grant-in-aid to the office bearers of various press clubs at the Information Department here on (MAY 20) May 20. He assured that a scheme to resolve journalists housing problems will be considered and In this regard a proposal of two percent plots in every new residential colony is underway.

He hailed cooperation of the journalists in discharge of their professional duties, and hoped that they will continue to highlight the problems of people. Later, he handed over the cheques to office bearers of press clubs of Gharo, Nawabshah, Kandhkot, Mirwah, Khairpur, Digree, Mirpurkhas, Tando Allahyar, Islamkot, Thatta, Kot Ghulam Mohammad, Kamber, Johi, Moro, Kazi Ahmed, Umer Kot, Naushehroferoze, Mithi, Diplo, Sewhan Sharif, Talhar, Dooro Naro, Doulatpur, Tangwani and Union of Journalists of Districts Badin, Mirpurkhas, Shahdadkot.
