Journalists for Peace
KARACHI- A group of journalists formed a non-governmental group ‘Journalists for Peace’ to promote peace in South Asian region at a meeting at Press Club.
The first meeting, chaired by senior journalist Salahuddin Haider, constituted a committee to draft constitution and establish contacts with local and regional journalists to organize the group. It would work for creating a congenial and conducive atmosphere and suggest the government to promote peace. The committee would prepare draft of the charter within 10 days and submit before a meeting of the general council to be held on September 6 at Karachi Press Club (KPC).
Humera Motala was nominated as coordinator of the group, who would contact the other journalists to join the group.
