Journalists’ entry banned in Services Wing

ISLAMABAD- The furious Director General Services, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Jehanzeb Khan, has imposed ban on journalists’ entry in the premises of Services Wing here on August 5, 2003 after press statements unveiled corruption in Services Wing.

As per details, Director General Services Jahanzeb Khan asked two renowned journalists of national dailies to leave his office and warned of serious consequences in the wake of news item published regarding suspension of two CDA officials of the Services Wing.

It may be mentioned here that Chairman CDA Chaudhry Abdul Rauf suspended two officials and charge-sheeted about 15 directors, deputy directors, including former DG Services, for their alleged involvement in corruption.

The DG Services after turning away newspaper staffers strictly asked his staff not to allow any journalist in the Services Wing.

He told reporters that they should contact Director Public Relation, Rawal Khan Maitla, for this purpose but unfortunately he is always not available for comments in his fully furnished and air-conditioned office.

Sources told that the said journalists sought comments from the DG over the ongoing tug of war between the CDA’s Services and Engineering wings regarding the disbursement of development funds.
