Journalists condemn bid to kidnap reporter
RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and a number of senior journalists held a rally at the Rawalpindi Press Club on Saturday to protest an attempt by some unknown persons to kidnap Geo News reporter Azaz Syed.
They urged the interior ministry to arrest the culprits and provide security to journalists.
Senior politician Sheikh Rashid Ahmad also addressed the rally and demanded security for the working journalists.
Some unknown persons tried to kidnap Azaz Syed Friday night. The attempt was foiled.
Shahzad Town police station has registered an FIR against the unknown attackers. Inspector Ch Shafiq said investigation was on.
