Hazara varsity to set up radio

PESHAWAR – Dr. Ihsan Ali, Vice Chancellor Hazara University has said that the importance of journalism stands at apex in bringing about positive changes in the society and ensure all-round development of the nation.

He further remarked that print and electronic media had made phenomenal performance and transforms the world into global village. The IT has played an important role in this regard. He declared that professional responsibility of a journalist is that they should evaluate all aspects of the problems brought into their notice and after objective assessment; they should present it before the public, so that the truth should be highlighted.

Vice Chancellor remarked that the media was facing the greatest challenge to deal with the problems of the day and in the light of their guidance, the government organized national policies in a coordinated way to achieve the set targets in the light of public opinion.

The construction of this campus was the top priority with the active cooperation of Federal Minister Prof. Dr. A.J. Khan who has been very kind to pursue the project with the relevant agencies of the Federal Government. We have also started Haripur.

He explained that for the promotion of journalism, Hazara University was trying to establish a radio station at its campus where the students will get the latest facilities in the field of journalism.

He expressed his satisfaction university has taken the benefit that Hazara University had achieved its mission of disseminating the quality education bringing it to the doorstep of the common man. It has successfully established a campus at Havelian where the first semester is successfully functioning with 121 students belonging to area.

The construction of this campus was the top priority with the active cooperation of federal Minister Prof. Dr. AJ Khan who has been very kind to pursue the project with the relevant agencies of the Federal Government. We have also started Haripur Campus last week with the cooperation of Caretaker Federal
Minister Ejaz Ali Khan Durani.

The defunctFDC premises have been taken over by the university in a formal ceremony. The university has taken the benefit of providing higher education to the people of Haripur. Although, the university was facing great constraints of financial resources, yet the public service and the spread of education is the top priority of the university. We had requested the Chancellor / honorable Governor to inaugurate the campus. Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali revealed that Hazara region was the largest both in population and area of all the other regions of the province. On the basis of population and land area, it deserved far greater number of universities than the rest of province. During his tenure of 11 / 2 year, the university had taken great strides on the way to progress, which is quite evident by casting a cursory glance at the booming and research activities. He concluded with the happy note that electronic and print media would come forward to uphold and promote the noblest cause of higher education by projecting the activities of Hazara University.
